ShootingTalk
Community Safety Standard

Safety Is Not
Optional Here.

ShootingTalk exists to serve lawful, responsible firearm owners. These standards are not suggestions — they are the foundation of everything we do. Violations are acted on immediately.

What We Do Not Allow

Zero-Tolerance Standards

These are not gray areas. Content or behavior in any of these categories is removed immediately and may result in permanent removal from the community.

No Illegal Activity

Discussion of illegal modifications, bypassing background checks, straw purchases, or any activity that violates federal, state, or local law is strictly prohibited.

No Unsafe Handling Advice

Advice that could lead to unsafe firearm handling, negligent discharges, or injury is removed immediately. Safety is non-negotiable.

No Bypassing Laws

Instructions on how to evade detection, circumvent legal requirements, or bypass any aspect of firearm law are not permitted.

No Firearm Sales or Transfers

ShootingTalk is a digital community, not a marketplace for firearm transactions. No sales, transfers, or solicitations for firearms through the platform.

No Doxxing

Sharing personal information about other members — real names, addresses, workplaces, or any identifying details — without consent is a permanent ban offense.

No Extremist Content

Content promoting extremist ideologies, violent groups, or radicalization has no place here. ShootingTalk is for lawful, responsible firearm owners.

No Violent Threats

Threats of violence against any person, group, or institution — regardless of context — result in immediate removal and may be reported to law enforcement.

No Evasion Content

"How to evade detection," ghost gun instructions for illegal purposes, or any content designed to help someone avoid lawful oversight is prohibited.

What We Expect

The Standard We
Hold Each Other To.

Great communities are built on shared values. These are the behaviors that make ShootingTalk the most trusted firearm community online.

  • Cite official sources when discussing laws or regulations
  • Report content that violates these standards using the Report button
  • Assume good faith from fellow members unless proven otherwise
  • Keep political debate civil and focused on policy, not people
  • Encourage safe storage and responsible handling in every discussion
Enforcement

How We Enforce These Standards

Level 1

Warning

First-time minor violations receive a warning and content removal.

Level 2

Temporary Suspension

Repeated violations or moderate offenses result in a temporary ban.

Level 3

Permanent Ban

Serious violations — threats, doxxing, illegal activity — result in permanent removal.

Level 4

Law Enforcement Referral

Credible threats of violence or evidence of illegal activity may be reported to authorities.
