By accessing or using ShootingTalk ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using the Platform.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account or use the Platform. By registering, you represent and warrant that you are 18 or older and that all information you provide is accurate and complete.

3. User Conduct

You agree not to use the Platform to:

  • Post content that violates any federal, state, or local law
  • Facilitate, solicit, or discuss unlawful firearm transactions
  • Harass, threaten, or intimidate other users
  • Post false, misleading, or defamatory content
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Distribute spam, malware, or unauthorized advertising
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Platform

4. Marketplace Rules

The ShootingTalk Marketplace is a community listing board. All transactions are solely between the parties involved. ShootingTalk does not broker, facilitate, guarantee, or take responsibility for any transaction.

Firearm transfers must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws. Interstate transfers to an unlicensed recipient generally must be completed through an FFL in the recipient's state of residence. Some states and local jurisdictions also require an FFL or additional procedures for in-state transfers. Always verify the current requirements before completing a transaction. ShootingTalk does not provide legal advice, broker transactions, or determine whether a transfer is lawful.

The following are prohibited from the Marketplace at launch:

  • NFA-regulated items (suppressors, machine guns, short-barreled rifles and shotguns, destructive devices, any other weapons)
  • Unserialized firearms
  • Unfinished receivers and kits requiring additional legal review
  • Explosives and explosive components
  • Any item whose sale, transfer, or possession is prohibited under applicable law

See the full Marketplace Rules for complete listing requirements.

5. Content Ownership and License

You retain ownership of content you post. By posting content on the Platform, you grant ShootingTalk a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display, distribute, and store that content in connection with operating the Platform.

ShootingTalk reserves the right to remove any content that violates these Terms or our Community Guidelines at any time without notice.

6. Informational Content Disclaimer

Content on ShootingTalk — including forum posts, resource pages, and state law summaries — is provided for informational purposes only. ShootingTalk does not provide legal, financial, medical, or professional advice. Always consult a qualified professional before making decisions based on information found on this Platform.

Laws change. Information about firearm laws, regulations, and licensing requirements may be outdated. Always verify current requirements with official government sources.

7. Accounts and Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

ShootingTalk reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, at our sole discretion.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ShootingTalk and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform or any transactions conducted through the Marketplace.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ShootingTalk and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Platform, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when changes are made.
