Amtrak / Rail Travel

Amtrak's checked baggage firearm policy, which routes allow firearms, packaging requirements, and what to know before you book.

Important: Not All Routes Allow Firearms

Amtrak only allows firearms on routes with checked baggage service. The Northeast Corridor (including Acela) and many regional routes do NOT offer checked baggage and therefore do NOT allow firearms. Always verify your specific route before booking.
